The Cameron/Stronach Conversion Kit turns your existing 14x12" Premier HTS700 or HTS800 snare drum into a 14x6" conversion drum weighing around 12.5 pounds. The process is completely reversible so you can flip between full and half-size at any time.
The Conversion Drum Kit was used by the Grade 1 Toronto Police Pipe Band to win two North American Drum Corps Championships, as well as many other awards. Competing and non-competing bands throughout Canada and the US also use the kit to introduce younger players to the band who cannot carry the size and weight of a full-size drum, as well as older players or players with medical conditions, bad backs or injuries.
With a shorter shell, the drum can reach higher pitches more easily resulting in longer head life and less strain on the drum's moving parts. The size and light weight of the drum is a benefit for players of any age. A full set of drums can fit in the trunk of most mid-sized cars and the cost of paying extra baggage fees to fly with your drum is greatly reduced.
New standard finishes are available for the Conversion Kit. A Piano Black, Red and Saphire have been created to match closely the Premier HTS800 range of colors, allowing you to mix and match full-size and Conversion Drums together. Custom finishes are also available to match to your exisiting custom color or create something completely unique for you or your band.
