– This 2 hour + workshop explains all the parts of the pipe band snare drum, the typical setup of a snare drum, sound and tuning expectations as well as general maintenance tips to help keep your drum in peak performance. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome. Feel free to have your drum available and on screen during the workshop. There will be a chance to ask questions during and at the end of the workshop.
– The workshop is taught by Doug Stronach who has over 20 years experience working as the drum technician for Cameron’s Drumming Studio and who is now part-owner of Custom Drum Sound Inc. He has worked on thousands of new and used drums for all major brands in his 20 year span as well as playing at the highest level of competition in Scotland and North America since the 1980s.
